Janet Yellen’s tenure as Federal Reserve chair (from 2014 to 2018) saw significant employment increases and rising markets, trends that continue today, but in a vastly different political climate. She sits down with Paul Krugman—Nobel laureate, New York Times columnist, and GC distinguished professor—to discuss her time at the Federal Reserve and what the future may hold for the U.S. economy. Yellen, who is professor emerita at the University of California Berkeley, currently serves as a distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institution.
